WHAT is 180:Lift?
180:Lift takes place in two middle schools in Mississauga, Ontario. Leaders from Global 180 go into these two schools during the students lunch period and have the opportunity to mentor them in a small group setting. We have developed our own curriculum focused on developing their leadership skills that covers topics such as friendship, character, and their future, among others.
Our goal
The goal of 180:Lift is to mentor students towards becoming stronger leaders in their community; helping them to understand that they each have something unique that they can offer to make our world a better, more positive place. Often times they just need help understanding what those unique things are, and we are here to lift them up along the way.
History of 180:LIFT
180:Lift launched in September, 2016 at two middle schools in Mississauga, Ontario. The staff at Global 180 had a desire to mentor youth and help them transition to high school. In pursuing this goal, we have “hosted” 8 groups of youth. Each group stays together for one school year and we have graduated over seventy-five youth from the program. We have developed our own curriculum that is tailored towards grade eight youth and the new challenges they face.
What Our youth say
180:Lift taught me a lot of essential life skills. It taught me how to talk to people and how to be really a nice person and how to better myself while bettering other people.

With Lift I feel like I can be myself and help people as well instead of just expressing myself to my friends.
